The LJ Series Open Hopper Progressive Cavity Pumps represent an ideal pumping solution for viscous solutions and those with high solids contents such as sludges and slurries, wine must, food waste, polymers, pulp and paper, brewing mash and mash-tun removal and other low-flowability pumping mediums that other pumps would have difficulty pumping.
The LJ Series offers a heavy-duty auger mated to a rotor and stator for the most difficult progressive cavity pumping applications.
Our hopper-enclosed auger feed design forces the liquid toward the rotor and stator so it can fill the cavities and then pump. The heavy-duty hopper has slanted sides so the medium pours towards the auger. Custom hopper and auger designs are available for installations where you need bigger hoppers.
The modular design of the LJ Series Open Hopper Progressive Cavity Pump is a hardened pinned-joint drive assembly with a suction body available in steel or 316 stainless steel and internal wetted components in either stainless steel or hardened tool steel with hard chrome plating for long-life and durability in abrasive pumping applications.
Rotors and Stators for the LJ Series are available in 1, 2, and 3 stages representing 75, 150, and 225 PSI discharge pressures with stators available in Buna Nitrile, Viton, EPDM and Natural Rubber. The standard seal design is a set of gland packing with a lantern ring and flush connections. Mechanical Seal options are readily available.
